Adventurers > Ryan Davies
Ryan Davies is a photographer with a real spirit for adventure. Whether close or far away from home, for just a few days or many months running into years – Ryan has a great ‘eye’ for capturing the essence and moment, be it the high or low of any trip. He is also a keen cyclist and so often his work has this as a major influence to it.
In 2010, Ryan along with his partner Rebecca set out on their ‘World Cycling Tour’. This was one big adventure - to cycle almost 17,000 miles from England to New Zealand, visiting 23 countries in just under 20 months. The result was an amazing photo album (www.worldcyclingtour.org/photos) illustrating the people, places and contrasting cultures they visited along the way - from Western Europe to Iran, Kazakhstan & China in Central Asia, to Vietnam, Thailand & Malaysia in Southern Asia, and finally to Australia & New Zealand far down under.
Since his return, Ryan has balanced his work with a number of smaller but still inspiring adventures, whether it be canoeing the River Thames or cycling the South Downs Way to wild-camping and traversing the Pyrenean Haute Route on foot. He has a never-ending list of future adventures ahead of him, on which he will take and test our products to their limits as he did cycling the globe. Not only that, we know Ryan will capture them in the moment of ‘surviving and discovering adventure’ – the very thing that continues to inspire him. See what Ryan has been up to recently at www.ryandaviesphoto.com and on our blog.
